First Aid Trainer/Assessor course

To attend this course, the minimum requirement to comply with is that candidates have suitable first aid knowledge:
ideally having held a first aid at work certificate in the past. This course is not suitable for those with insufficient prior knowledge.

Cost: £495

This course is a pass or fail course.
If you fail the first aid assessment, you will be reassessed on the day. If you fail again but have passed the teaching part you will be offered a place on another first aid course.
If you fail the teaching part you will be offered the opportunity to shadow and assist on a course, in the future.

During the program you will aiming to achieve each of the following Ofqual regulated qualifications:

  • QNUK Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an AED (QCF)
  • QNUK Level 3 Award in First aid at Work (QCF)
  • QNUK Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF)

The successful candidates will be provided with lesson plans and a PowerPoint presentation to enable them to deliver each of the following courses that are approved/certified by Qualification Network UK & OfQual:

    • QNUK Level 2 Award in Activity First aid (QCF)
    • QNUK Level 2 Award in Basic Life support and Safe use of an AED (QCF)
    • QNUK Level 2 Award in Basic Life support and Management of Anaphylaxis (QCF)
    • QNUK Level 2 Award in Emergency First aid at Work (QCF)
    • QNUK Level 3 Award in First aid at Work (QCF)
    • QNUK Level 3 Award in Outdoor First aid (RQF)

If you have successfully completed the course you will need some equipment to start you off. When delivering courses you will need a minimum of:

  • 1 Manikin per 4 learners (£150 each. You will require a ratio of 1:4. Therefore, for the 2 day course with 12 people 3 manikins will be required).
  • Dressings and bandages.
  • Suitable manikin wipes.
  • Presentation equipment.
  • Total cost of set up aprox £450

Plus:

  • A learner pack of a dressing and a bandage is £1.25 per learner.
  • Each learner should also receive a first aid manual. These are £1.75 each.

To maintain the qualification candidates need to teach during their 3 year period, at least 6 courses per annum. You must then maintain your first aid qualification. Both records will need to be sent to a approved centre who will be running the course or trainers my attend a trainer re-qualification course.
