Service Description

Course Info: This qualification is aimed those undertaking the role of a first aider in the workplace. The qualification meets the requirements for First Aid at Work as outlined in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. COVID Info: We have limited our course sizes to 9. New clean face masks and gloves will be provided. Each leaner will have your own equipment to use. Every learner will be seated two metres apart when inside. If you have your own new and clean face masks or gloves to bring that is encouraged. Duration: 3 days Instructor/Candidate Ratio: 1:12 Time: 09:00 – 18:00 each day. Qualification: First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years. This course will be delivered by James Lockerbie from First Aid Events Cost: For your company its £900 for 6 learners then £35 per each extra learner. Content: The role of the first aider, contents of first aid kits (avoiding cross infection), recording of incidents and accidents, assessing the situation in an emergency, administering first aid to a casualty who; is unconscious (including seizures), requires cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), is choking, is wounded or bleeding, is in shock, has minor conditions – to include: minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters. Administer first aid to a casualty with; injuries to bones, muscles, joints including suspected spinal and head injuries, sudden poisoning, burns and scalds, eye injuries, anaphylactic shock and use of auto-injectors (Epipen)*, Recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma & diabetes. Your course will be tailored to match your workplace.


Cancellation Policy

1. CANCELLATION POLICY a) If you cancel more than 6 weeks prior to the course start date, you will forfeit any deposit paid. b) If you cancel less than 6 weeks prior to the course start date, you will be forfeit the deposit and be liable for the full "balance of payment" of all monies owed to First Aid Events for your booking. d) Cancellation must be notified IN WRITING ONLY to the First Aid Events Office by fax, email or letter. Verbal instructions to cancel are not acceptable and will not be acted upon by the First Aid Events Office. 5. a) All correspondence will be sent to the e-mail address supplied on your Booking Form. b) It is your responsibility to keep the First Aid Events office informed of any change of e-mail address or postal address after booking on to a course. 2. First Aid Events reserves the right to cancel courses at any time prior to the course date. In this eventuality First Aid Events will refund any monies paid to First Aid Events, but shall not be liable for an additional costs incurred.
